  13. xp started as a program to simply display stdin in a text widget. 
  14. It takes its name from the "p" file printing program described in
  15. "The Unix Programming Environment" by Kernighan and Pike.
  16. It has grown to be a more general file displayer but I've tried to keep it
  17. simple and useful in shell scripts.

  19. xp displays the first file in an Athena Text widget and offers a menu whereby
  20. each file may be subsequently opened and displayed (in the same window).

  22. If not file argument is given, or if the argument `-' is given, xp reads from 
  23. the standard input.
